Sephardic Community Health Center

Our Mission

We are establishing a 240-bed residential health care facility at 1455 Coney Island Avenue, in the heart of Midwood, Brooklyn. This home is designed specifically to meet the religious, cultural, social, and dietary needs of the Sephardic Jewish community — including individuals with roots in Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon.

A Community Served

Existing nursing homes in the area fall short of supporting the unique values and traditions of Sephardic elders.

As a result:

  • Many seniors remain isolated at home with minimal support.

  • Families often feel forced to choose between honoring their elders' values and ensuring proper care.

  • Long-term health outcomes are suffering.

Our facility will provide holistic, culturally aligned care—restoring the social fabric and ensuring elders are embraced with familiarity and dignity.

Sephardic Community Organizations

To service our community, we've created many organizations each with the precise goal to combat an inherent challenge and need in the community.

SBH helps both individuals and entire families in crisis, imbuing them with a strength and self-esteem to cope effectively with challenges, achieve self-sufficiency, and rise with dignity to their utmost potential.

A cultural, recreational, educational, and social center, dedicated to serving generations of families, standing at the intersection of traditional and modern, while growing to meet the contemporary needs of our community.

The SAFE Foundation provides reliable treatment for family members and people seeking help with addictive disorders, such as drug addictions, alcoholism, gambling and cigarettes both electronic and tobacco.

The SCF is the government relations & public policy organization of the Sephardic Jewish community- serving political needs and encouraging all Sephardic's to vote for the same candidate.

Sephardic Organizations - Senior Divisions

We've established several seniors divisions of already established organizations with the sole focus of caring for our elderly.

SBH helps seniors in need by providing them with social workers or volunteers to their homes, alleviating their loneliness and to check up on their medical situation. In addition, they have reading clubs and a myriad of other programing specifically tailored to entertain our revered elders.

The Centers senior division creates artistic events to preserve elders' creativity and intellectual activity. They also conceive culinary programs in conjunction with the youth to enable seniors to spend time with family while cooking. Finally it establishes yoga and boxing class to keep our elders in shape both physically and mentally.

On the Jersey Shore, The DSN Seniors Division provides a healthy, exciting and social environment for our beloved seniors through daily fitness, educational, recreational and sports programs
